I Chronicles 18:4 gives this number as “seven thousand horsemen.” The apparent discrepancy may be due to a copyist error, and most likely should be “seven thousand.” Both numbers could be correct, however, if the “seven hundred” were somehow regarded as an elite unit within the “seven thousand.”
